A Very Good Day

Jim had a great day yesterday--lucid and calm the entire day! Many visitors--mostly family and dear friends. In the evening he became confused and agitated again, wanting to get out of bed and drive home. I stayed with him til 10:30 pm when YJ (AKA Young Jim) relieved me. He fell asleep at 11:00 pm after ENORMOUS amounts of medications. YJ stayed with him til 6 am and Jim was still sleeping (he had awakened at 2:30 am with pain and, when medicated, went right back to sleep). Kathleen was with him when he awakened at 7:30 am and said he was confused, but calm. Mike is with him now and I will go over there shortly. Today we are married exactly 49 1/2 years! And what a gift that has been! Barbara

  5. Dearest Barbara and Jim,
Happy 49 1/2 year anniversary! Wow! So many wonderful memories. Has it really been 47 1/2 years since our infamous " meet you in Miami " trip! Doesn't seem quite that long ago because I can remember so much about it. Glad I got to talk to you on Wednesday. We stayed with Marilyn and Gene until yesterday and arrived home about 9 pm last night. Easy driving both ways. Only traffic through Houston and again in Dallas, but nothing major. We thought of you a lot while up there and Marilyn and Gene both send their love and prayers. Hope last night brought sleep for both of you. I will call you tomorrow Barb. Love and prayers to all of the Fays! Please plant a big kiss on Jim's cheek for us!
    God bless,
    Jeanne, Frank and Alyssa
