Day 5 and Last of Chemo for Cycle 4
We spent most of the day at NIH for Jim's Cytoxin with IV fluids before and after. It was restful for Jim since they gave him a bed instead of a reclining chair. He did some walking outside this afternoon and then enjoyed a lovely dinner from our friend, Carol Beck. It's almost nine pm and he's ready for bed. Let's hope the next two weeks will be uneventful. He'll have a bone marrow biopsy on June 22 and CT Scans of chest, abdomen and pelvis on June 25 to determine how successful thus far the chemotherapy has been. Keep those prayers coming! Barbara

Hi Barbara and Jim: I've just read all the posts from April through today, and it sounds like you are hanging in there pretty well! (Not that we would expect any less.) Please know that we have kept you in our thoughts and prayers these last many weeks, and are so happy you shared the blog address so we can keep up-to-date on your progress. Here's hoping you get down to LBI where you belong ... soon! Best, Michelle (McCarthy) Murphy and family (West Hartford, CT)
ReplyDeleteTo our very dear friends,
ReplyDeleteSo glad, since your day was mostly at NIH, that it was at least somewhat restful! Barb, what do you get to rest in? Do you get a recliner? just wondered. We'll be praying double time while that bone marrow and those scans are being done! Jim, I admire your fight! And Barb, well what can I say- you are a dedicated and loving soul! And Kath, it was wonderful of you to bring that beautiful baby into the world at this time to give so much joy and bring so many smiles to peoples faces! That's what babies do! Love to all of you from all of us Birkensehers.
