Cycle 2, Day 3 and Day 4
The past two days have been pretty uneventful--just going in to NIH to have a new IV bag hung. They each run for 24 hours by an infusion pump that Jim wears as a fanny pack. Tomorrow, the fifth and last day of Cycle #2, we go in early because he'll need IV fluids before the final infusion of Cytoxin--that's the one which irritates the bladder so his instructions are to "drink and pee, drink and pee". After that infusion the PICC line will be removed and then home. Thanks for all the cards and prayers--they really help. Barbara and Jim

Hi dear friends,
ReplyDeleteWow! Uneventful sounds great. I like that word! Continue to have those uneventful days. Got home from work a little while ago. Crazy day-about 20 deliveries. Glad to be home. Frank and Alyssa are watching Dancing with the Stars.I know I keep repeating thsi- but again, we are having terrible flooding in Houston- not as bad in our area today, but very bad in the city and out where Patti and Chris live. Wish it would stop!. Pleasant dreams- and good luck with your "drink and pee" tomorrow, Jim!
Love and prayers,
Jeanne, Frank and Alyssa

Visited Pop & Nan @ home w/ the Kids on Tues evening. Counts were high and we were cleared for quick deck visit. Some snippits. Pop getting an umbrella to block the sun. Placed over head (Nan & YJ): Hmm ... nope, turn it lower, towards us, lower. Good! ck heh ch ck (snicker). At this point its in front of his face between Pop and Nan,YJ, El', Andrew. He moves to the shadows. El' to pop come get the castle w/ me (doll house castle). Comes back, YJ (so where's El'? One of the dolls). Pop (grrr). YJ gets it. El' to Andrew (Yelling 2 inches from his face), "HEY BABY GUY-O! HEY BABY GUY-O! HEY BABY GUY-O! Ummmm gumm". "Umm Gumm" is Andrew speak for ... well its open for interpretation. Andrew is pre-crawlin' all hands. Pivot, skooch back, pivot (almost like those radio shack remote control cars w/ one button curving back, forward ... except Andrew's internal button turns him then his one direction is backwards. He's started pushing back on his knees. Anyway I think it was a good visit.

Hi Jim: Fr. Vinny from Ghana here. Kevin & Linda have been keeping me posted on your new treatment. You are in my prayers and thoughts as usual. Tomorrow, Feast of st. Joseph the Worker, I will remember you in a special way to St. Joseph and it is also the First Friday.
ReplyDeleteSo I will also whisper a little prayer to the Lord under his title: Most Sacred Heartof Jesus, thy Kingdom come! for you and your wonderful wife and family. Good luck. God bless. Fr. Vinny
