Day 12, post chemo

Today Jim's temp never went above 101.5, however Infectious Disease docs ordered a CT scan just in case they were missing something. We got the report tonight and his lungs look good. Also they said the lymph nodes in his chest got smaller--great news--chemo is working! His ANC (absolute neutrophil count is 60 today). He's very, very tired, but actually asked for and ate a PB&J sandwich! Joe and Ann are with him now so I left about 7:00 pm. I imagine he'll sleep after a very tiring day. Love, Barbara

  3. Hi dear friends!
Glad to hear Friday was a better day. Yeah for PB&J! Whatever sounds good Jim- go for it! Thank you God for those shrinking lymph nodes- great news. And ANC of 60 is better than 30. Keep going forward! Take those power naps when you can, Jim. You too Barb! Congrats to Kath and Dan on that 5 lb 32 weeker- let's see- by 39 weeks- hmmm! Do I see a 9 pounder arriving? Have a good night's sleep. Many prayers coming your way!
    Love you both,
    Jeanne and Frank

  5. Barb and Jim -
Glad to hear the number is going up. I don't really know what it means --- but I sure know that it's a good thing! Rick and I enjoyed our visit with Jim. Hope to see you again soon. Barb, if you ever want to get in a quick walk before heading over to NIH, let me know.

  6. Hi Jim,
We heard that you escaped the Easter bunny to go to NIH. We're sorry that you're there but want you to keep up that 'fighting spirit.' We're rooting for you and cheering you on with positive thoughts and prayer. Lucky you to have 'Nurse Barbara' by your side. You two are good for each other so take strength from your relationship.
    Peace and love,
    Dick and Carleen Payne
