Longing for Home

A good day today until 7:00 pm when he spiked a temp and became nauseated. Nurse medicated him for the nausea and he felt real sleepy after that--said he's going to bed early. Neutrophils were at 200, hemoglobin above 10. A nice visit from Pat, Heather, and Jodie from Arizona. We were hoping he'd come home tomorrow, but now because of fever we don't know. Barbara

  1. Dearest Barbara and Jim,
Happy for you that most of today was good and sad that the temp went up again. It's just amazing what those drugs do to the body!. Glad the labs are looking better. We'll pray that the fever goes down and stays down so you can get on your way home. God bless both of you,
    All our love,
    Jeanne, Frank and Alyssa

  2. Barbara,
We are terribly sorry to hear that Jim is not feeling well. Our thoughts and prayers - indeed the thoughts and prayers of all the McCarthy's - are with you Jim and you.
Despite his condition it is comforting to know that he is surrounded by family, loved ones and a caring medical team.
We will pray especially hard today that his temperatue will stay low and that he has peaceful days until he can regain his strength and get home.

On a personal note, thank you for your generousity in allowing us to stay at your beach house this past weekend. Your home is warm, welcoming and filled with the joy and love you've created there.

Jim, you and all the Fays remain in our prayers.

    Love ,
    Paul, Lorie, Sherry & Thomas
    McCarthy
