Not much change

Another day of fatigue and discouragement. Neutrophils still at 10 and fevers continue--Jim knows he has to be free of fever for 24 hrs. and neutrophil count at 500 before they let him go home. On a higher note--he was moved to a private room tonight so is hoping for a good night's sleep. Sally came to visit this evening and Erin tells me she is going tonight. And he had a lovely visit from a hospital chaplain, Ellen, who was just wonderful and helped to lift his spirits! Barbara

  1. Hi Barb and Jim,
We'll be rooting for the neutrophils to rise and the temp to go down and stay down. A private room sounds great. Here's to a good night's sleep, Jim- no sleep walking. The three of us just came home from a 7 PM mass said for a little 2 yr old in our parish who will have open heart surgery on Tuesday. Scary stuff! Love you two! Praying every day!
    Sweet dreams,
    Frank, Jeanne and Alyssa

THERE IS SOME COMFORT IN KNOWING HE IS DOING HIS ABSOLUTE BEST,FIGHTING AS HARD AS HE CAN TO GET HOME TO HIS FAMILY, AWAKE OR ASLEEP,HE DOESN'T KNOW ANY OTHER WAY.

  4. Barb, you need the rest too and hope you are getting some! God knows when he comes home he'll be up to his old antics taking the wrong turn for the bathroom at the top of the stairs, sneaking down for some ice cream and worrying you to death! Tell Jim the Polish prince got his good news his PSA went down to 1.5 (was 6) after his radiation, it's time for some good news coming your way! I'll have my kids chomp the bad cells like they did for Grumpa. It's a very proactive way for kids to "help" they pretend that they are PACMAN and the dots are bad cells so they chomp them until they're all gone. My kids would even sing a song to "Grumpa" every night that they were chomping the bad cells. Might be something for your little ones to do, I know Grumpa got a kick out of it and the kids are very proud that they helped. ME & the boyz
